Orkut thing

Monday, May 29, 2006

I'm fed up with the mails coming from the orkut users regarding deletion of accounts due to rush of users. The mails keep up flooding my inbox saying
because of sudden rush of people signing upto orkut is come to an attention that we are vastly running our of resources so with in a week any one who does not receive this scrap will be deleted of our server . We know that you are still using this account We want to find out which users are actually using their orkut accounts so if you are using your then please send this scrap to every orkut user that you can if u do not pass this scrap to anyone then we will delete your account.

I don't understand why the heck people don't check out the reality before forwarding the mails. Few days back, it was with SMS about the anti-reservation strike. Now these mails are again started frustrating me.

What orkut has to say about the news is
We heard there's a rumor going around orkut that says orkut.com will delete your account for inactivity. We've even received this notice from someone pretending to be Orkut himself! This is not true and you can safely disregard these messages or scraps.

Rains and memories

Sunday, May 28, 2006

Yesterday it rained. Day before also it rained. So what was the difference? The day before's rains braught up my past. And yesterday's rains braught up my future. The day before's rains gave me tears. And yesterday's rainsgave me new confidence. Confused? Let me be straight..

Day before's rains braught up my old memories that made me cry. And yesterday's rain came up with a call from Mumbai saying I'm placed. Yup.. I got placed in Akna Infotech and I'll be joining from 10th July. Great, isn't it?

Yesterday, Something reminded me of this Shayri. There is a guy X whom I hate due to some past events. Whenever someone takes his name in front of me, I remember my past and get nervous.
At the same time, he was best friend of one of my best friend Y. Y can't tolerate anyone to say anything about X.
So yesterday, X and Y met and X hurt Y. So Y was nervous and I had to council her. Every time I was talking about X, I was getting more and more hurt from inside. I was just wondering when I will collapse. Luckily nothing like that happened and Y didn't come to know about all the things.
I just hope the name of X will never appear in my life again.

Monsoon to hit Kerala by 30 May

Finally the pre-monsoon rains are here. Today it rained, though not heavily, in Pune. I enjoyed the rains in my own way.

"The monsoon will hit the Kerala coast on May 30, two days ahead of schedule." says Sathi Devi, Director, Weather Bureau.

So, this year my treks will start earlier. That's great.

Last year’s torrential downpour is still fresh in people’s minds. So is there a chance of its repeat this year? "Last year was an exception. Such rainfall does not happen every year. Last year, it rained more than expected. But we cannot really predict so soon if there will be a repeat this year" she added.

Guys, better let's be ready to face circumstances if they arrive.

Btw, I put up a poem about first rain on my Marathi blog. Check out the poem here.

Jesus to a child

Friday, May 26, 2006

This song is my favorite at this moment. The soft music is too good when you just want to relax. And the words are just heart touching. George Michael has really created magic through this song. Here I'm putting up the lyrics of the song. Will upload the song very soon so that you can feel what I am saying..

kindness in your eyes
I guess you heard me cry
you smiled at me
like Jesus to a child
I'm blessed I know
heaven sent and heaven stole
you smiled at me like
Jesus to a child
and what have I learned
from all this pain
I thought I'd never feel the same
about anyone or anything again
but now I know

when you find a love
when you know that it exists
then the lover that you miss
will come to you on those cold, cold nights
when you've been loved
when you know it holds such bliss
then the lover that you kissed
will comfort you when there's no hope in sight

sadness in my eyes
no one guessed, well no one tried
you smiled at me
like Jesus to a child
loveless and cold
with your last breath you saved my soul
you smiled at me
like Jesus to a child
and what have I learned
from all these tears
I've waited for you all those years
then just when it began
he took your love away
but I still say

But I still say
When you find love
When you know that it exists
Then the lover that you miss
Will come to you on those cold, cold nights

When you've been loved
When you know it holds such bliss
Then the lover that you kissed
Will comfort you when there's no hope in sight

so the words you could not say
I'll sing them for you
and the love we would have made
I'll make it for two
for every single memory
has become a part of me

you will always be...my love

well I've been loved
so I know just what love is
and the lover that I kissed is always by my side
oh the lover I still miss...was Jesus to a child.

At the Railways

I was always fascinated towards traveling by train. I will always prefer a journey by train over bus. Its a different fun traveling by train.
While at railway station and in railway compartment, you will find lot of different people. Do you remember having witnessed some guy with torn clothes cleaning the compartment and asking some money. Well, these guys have always got my sympathy and I always make it a point to give them some coins.
But I never tried to find out what exactly they do with the money or how exactly their life is. One of my journalist friend Deepa tried finding out. You can go through her post regarding the same.

The post reminds me a dialogue of Amitabh from film Aankhein..
"Sach! Kalpanase bhi vichitra hota hai yeh sach!!"

- Dinesh Finally completed this scribble at 1:25 AM 0 people thought of commenting on this

The Pen Theory

Arey chhod na yar.. Ek pen ki hi to baat hai..

This dialogue sound similar? Surely.. Someone has taken your pen to sign some document or to scribble a couple of lines on some paper and then forgot to return you. Two days later, you are asking for the pen. The friend says this dialogue. And you are like willing to kill him..
Now let's take it other way. Place yourself at the place of that friend. You took someone's pen and forgot to return. Then two days later he asks you for pen. Meanwhile in the two days, you have misplaced the pen somewhere. You are sure to utter the same dialogue.

That's a common human psychology. When we are thinking about something, we think as a very small thing when its about someone else. Whereas, we take it as some huge problem when it comes to ourselves. Its not just about pen but about everything. For the sake of some name, let's call it as "Pen Theory". So do you find any more such examples?

Table Tennis

Today, first time in my life when I took Table Tennis racket in my hand.
Yup.. Today I played table tennis for almost an hour. And Guess what, it was great !!! My friends always used to say me, "Dinesh, you need to play. You need to take more interest in sports." Even I always wanted to play sports but there was always an inferiority complex in me. I had decided never to play any sport and get laughed.
But, my colleagues from MIT NCC Troop realized this and they started inspiring me towards sports.
So we started playing badminton. Today, I was playing badminton with Megha. At the same time, Alok was busy playing table tennis with Monika. So, Megha said let's go and play carrom. We went in the gymkhana building. There we saw Alok and Monika playing Table tennis.
When Monika left for home, me and Megha took the rackets. Alok told me the rules once. And then we started. We both were kinda new to this game. But still we played a few good games. Of course, credit goes to our coach Mr. Alok Gaokar.
Now, the inferiority complex has been replaced by the zest of learning new games. They are best solution for any problem in life.

Btw, the two players in the snap are Megha and me..

SMS: A new headache...!!!

"A Doctor Anuj Shrivastava died due to hunger strike. Media refuging to cover. Please pass this to as many youths as you can"

Did you receieve this SMS? What was your reaction? Oh My God !!! So Bad !!! I should do something for it. Atleast forward to few more people. So you click on forward option in your mobile and forwarded the message to few more youngsters. Did you do exactly the same? Then I will term you as another dumbo person.

I don't know why don't people like to confirm before spreading the news. One of my friend forwarded me this message. (Actually many frineds forwarded but I am talking about one of them). When I asked him whether he has confirmed the news before forwarding, his reaction was the person who sent me this is himself a doctr. So it must be true. Hmmm.. So now doctors in this country have got a new duty. Journalist. Good..
All you journalists out there, go away. We have got a lot of doctors in our country. We don't need you now. And due to increased seats proposed by Arjun singh, we will be getting more and more doctors every year. So go and find some other business for you.

Oh.. Coming back to the point. About the SMS. Check what "Youth for Equality" has to say.

Is the history being sold?

Sunday, May 21, 2006

Lately, lot has been said about the sale of underi fort.
Only 5 % forts are under the control of Archeological Survey. All others are under the forest department or the royal families or some trust. Very few forts are under the control of individuals or villagers. So, I think it won't happen with other forts.

However if you see, Gopalgad has already been sold. Sinhagad is being used by public property since the times of Tilak. Everyone has taken it as private property and built bungalows and restaurants on the fort. Now, even a lodge has been opened up there.

The Parsi family living at Pandavgad many times behave as if they have full ownership over the fort.

Sahara watchmen many times prohibit you from entering the Korigad fort as they have their radar system put upon the fort.

These are just few examples. If tomorrow, the Parsi family decides to sell Pandavgad, no one can object. Sahara behaves as if they have bought the fort. And as per I think, they have actually bought up the fort. They gave royalty to government and forest dept, and now they are using it the way they want to.

About Sinhagad, Tilak first built up a bungalow there. Then came Gandhi. He gifted half land of fort to his secretary (some Mehta from Mumbai). As if he owned the land of Sinhagad heritated from his father.

This is going on for years. The people, forest dept, so called politicians are eating up forts. And we are unable to do anything...

I want to buy a fort..

Saturday, May 20, 2006

Seems crazy? But its happening. Our grant history is being sold.
News about the fort being soldIt started with Anjanwel fort (Gopalgad) and now, fort Underi is also sold for Rs. 2 crore. Don't believe me? Check out the news here. Though a later action was taken afterLater action protest, it still remains a big question how long government will keep neglecting the heritage.
Latest news about Ankaai fort being used for storing weapons by militants is a very prominent example of what can happen. And this is just a trailer. The situation may go worse. Now is the time that government should wake up and take some solid steps to preserve the proud witnesses of our grand history.

Airtel

Saturday, May 13, 2006

Yesterday, 1 year completed to change in my telephone number. 11th May, 2005 was the day when I shifted to Airtel from BPL Mobile. And in last one year, I find it worth with the Friends Scheme and unlimited internet access for just 5 Rs. per day, its definitely worth being with Airtel.
What more? It even provides unlimited downloading and in last 5 months, I'm downloading almost 80 MB everyday.. So overall, its great to be with Airtel.

Relevance of Shivaji at the Dawn of 21st Century

Friday, May 05, 2006

Hey guys, just check out this. Its an article written by Madhukar Joshi. He has brought upon the importance of Chhatrapati in a very easy language. However, most of his writing is concentrated towards persons and not incidents. Still, it will be a treat to read.
Just go through it once and you will know why..
