The Utterances of a Peculiar Mindset

The Delhi government is planning to start a programme on career options for school students at secondary and senior secondary levels.

The Education Department would take help from the Indian Air Force (IAF) to make students aware of various the career options available in the armed forces, particularly the IAF. The IAF will coordinate the programme. According to officials, the initiative will give government school students an idea of the different oppurtuntities available after the Boards. The IAF officials made a presentation in this regard to the Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely on Thursday.

“Most government school students are not aware of the various career options available to them unlike their counterparts in public schools. Apart from imparting education, we would like these students to know the options and avail the opportunities offered,” Lovely told the Hindustan Times. Wing Commander Ashim Kapoor, Joint Director of the Publicity Cell of the IAF, said “This is a social responsibility that we at the IAF are undertaking by presenting IAF as a sensible career choice among the Indian youth.”

He said that the IAF was conducting contact programmes, motivation talks in schools, colleges and universities across the country. He said that so far the drive has been very successful as both girls and boys have shown a keen interest for a career in the IAF in Delhi University.

I think all the schools in India should follow the pattern. Its better that the students will get familiar to the Army opportunities at the school level so that they can work better towards achieving this goal. What do you think about this?

None likes to talk of the world cup these days. This has been the most boring world cup ever. It may be because of India’s early way out from the series. Or may be due to the long lasting schedule of the super eight matches.. But now with the semi finals, the discussions have again raised.
The Srilankans were amazing throughout the match. And the result was nothing much different than the expectations. Only thing was a more closer encounter was expected between the two giants.
The South African players have proved their name as “choker”. No doubt Aussies are a better side. But South Africans had many chances to win against them. But they didn’t seem to have any plans to win the world cup. The batsmen put their weapons down in front of Mcgrath and Twait. None except Gibbs offered a little struggle. But after he went out for 39 trying to play a good length delivery by Twait, the Africans side collapsed like a house made up of playing cards. And 7 players have returned to pavilion for as low as 103. There were more expectations from the senior batsmen like Smith, DeVilliars, Kallis and Boucher. But Kallis and Boucher couldn’t even open their account.
Once again, the African side has proved that they can’t handle the pressure.

So now, its almost sure that the final will be played between Aussies and Lankans. And whole India will be hoping for the recurrence of 1996 final. Winning the world cup will be best send off to the legendary all rounder Sanath Jaisurya playing his last world cup.
